What to Expect in an All-Levels, Adult Flow Class
All-levels flow is a more gentle version of vinyasa (linking poses together with the breath). Gina creates her own style by combining flow with static holds (yin), challenges and strengthening poses (power), mobility and breathwork (pranayama). From beginner to advanced, and bodies of all kinds, everyone will benefit from this offering. Gina teaches by reading the room, providing what each student needs, whether it's more support from her or the props, more options for modifications or opportunities to go deeper for the more advanced.
While this class IS for beginners, it MAY not be for the following people: Those who have a lot of major mobility issues, preventing them from moving/getting up easily, those who don't prefer public/group classes or those who are seeking a FULL hour of strong/intermediate yoga. However, Gina would love to offer those individuals private one-on-one classes, either here in the studio, or in the comfort of their own home. In a private class, Gina can customize the class to what the student needs. Private groups and parties are also available as a way to have a class with only your family or friends. Please reach out to find out more info.

What to Expect in Kids Yoga Class
Introducing kids to yoga at a young age sets them up with so much body awareness, tools for big feelings, flexibility, balance, focus, spacial awareness, mindfulness and SO much more. Gina combines reading related stories, games and other fun with real poses, breathwork and meditation. There will even be a shavasana (resting pose at the end), modeling to kids how important stillness is, especially after movement and excitement. Gina also weaves in sound healing with live instruments and vibration which calms the nervous system to promote relaxation and even physical healing.
Real pose names, including some use of Sanskrit words for each pose are also sometimes used to subtly introduce kids to another language and ancient yogic verbiage.
Caregivers are encouraged to participate as the class can benefit all ages.
About Gina & Her Teaching Style
Gina is a 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, Yoga Retreat Leader, Organic Farmer, Organic Skincare-Maker and Mother from Long Island, New York. She has also completed trainings in Kids Yoga, Reiki, Thai Bodywork and Restorative Yoga.
Her yoga journey began when she discovered that being on her mat allowed her to quiet her overactive mind. After nearly a decade of practice, Gina began her Yoga Teacher Trainings in 2015, and since 2017, has led 11 retreats from Costa Rica to The Catskills to New Hampshire. Gina has studied under numerous teachers across a variety of traditions and skillfully integrates elements from different lineages into her teaching, combining physical asana with relevant wisdom.
No two classes are ever the same! Gina's style of teaching is considered all-levels Vinyasa/ gentle flow (unless otherwise noted in special classes). Vinyasa means linking poses together with the breath creating a little flow. She's mostly influenced by Ana Forrest, who is about protecting the neck and holding easy poses while focusing on the breath to push through discomfort. Yin and restorative are often weaved in as as well strong ab and arm work to fire up the belly, support the back and stay strong as well as flexible.
Gina believes that yoga has the power to heal the body, mind, and spirit, with a focus on breath, alignment, and staying present in the moment. When mindfully moving with the breath, your brain can quiet allowing your nervous system to rest, creating peace and putting your mind and body into a meditative state. This is where physical, emotional and mental healing can take place- as well as focus, inspiration and clarity.
Gina is committed to making yoga accessible, yet challenging and exciting. Her challenges and sequences use modifications to leave each student, no matter their skill level, feeling strong and empowered. With permission, she provides hands-on assists to teach muscle-memory, body awareness and alignment, as well as gentle touch/Thai Body-Work, to enhance each student’s practice and assist in calming the nervous system. Gina is known for her compassionate and peaceful teaching, both with her voice and touch, making students feel at home and held in a safe space.
